My name is Margaret Van Tighem and I have been a student of Angie Payne at Equine Enrichment for the last six months.
My experience with Angie and the equine therapy has been beyond anything I could have imagined. With no real idea of how this would work and no familiarity with horses I was initially apprehensive. Angie was warm, welcoming and very professional. She took time to assess my comfort level and demonstrate how to approach the horses with respect and safety.
The sessions themselves are always based around where I am and what my needs are on that particular day.
I have tried many different therapeutic counselling sessions over the years and, for me, this has been the most enlightening and life changing of them all. When I try to describe it to people I say that the other therapy always worked on an intellectual level but this ties the intellectual, spiritual, and mental together. The horses force me to be in the moment and present and honest at all times. It usually takes me a week or two after the session to fully process what happened in that hour and a half.
My time with Angie, Fancy and Romeo has become an integral part of my life and I look forward to many future sessions.
All the best
